What Cleaning Method is Best
Unless you’re in the cleaning industry, we know it’s tough to get excited about the need to clean your carpets, rugs and other furnishings. At Chase, we understand how you feel. So we try our best to make the cleaning process as seamless for you as we can. It’s our desire to get in and do the job efficiently, but effectively with minimal “downtime” to you and your lifestyle as possible. So how do you decide which cleaning method is the best? Wet or dry?
To most people “dry cleaning” means cleaning without water. The fact is that all carpet cleaning methods actually use anywhere from a little to a lot of water! That’s because most of the soil in your furnishings is water soluble and the only way to remove it is to dissolve it, then rinse with water . . . just like washing your clothes. For the most part that means better results with a wet cleaning process. On the other hand, each cleaning process has its place given the circumstances.
That’s where our 45 years of experience helps. Chase is trained in all methods of cleaning including “dry,” “minimum moisture,” “hot water extraction” and even complete “submersion cleaning” for rugs. We follow carpet, upholstery or rug manufacturer recommendations. But typically most of the cleaning we perform is the “hot water extraction” method, also known as “steam cleaning.”
This is the process offered by 96% of all carpet cleaning companies across the country. Why? The reason is that most major carpet manufacturers recommend hot water extraction as the preferred method of cleaning. In fact, many carpet warranties now require regularly scheduled cleaning and require hot water extraction cleaning by an IICRC Certified Firm like Chase every 12-24 months.
